Description

Hello all,

My name is Rasmus and I’m just beginning my doctoral research with a topic and methodology that I find very connected to the IDGs.

💡 With chronic overconsumption and overworking especially in the Western world, it’s becoming clearer by the day that we must figure out what is enough. Shifting our sense of what is enough – our sense of sufficiency – is obviously beneficial for the environment, but what if at a certain point life is actually better without more?

❔ In my research I will be diving deep into Finns’ experiences of sufficiency. What is it like to have enough, do enough, be enough? How (un-/)common is it to have these experiences these days? What’s too much and how does this relate to our well-being?

I think there’s no better way to understand such experiences and their collective and relational aspects, than to talk about them constructively in a dialogue.

➡️ Thus, I’m designing and arranging ‘sufficiency dialogues’ for groups of people. The intention is to focus on the experiences – personal and collective, positive and negative – and to freely discuss and envision potential sufficiency-oriented futures. A part of the research is to see whether ‘just talking about it’ may help us move toward such futures. Essentially, I’m studying sufficiency by the means of dialogue and dialogue in the case of sufficiency.

I am curious to hear what thoughts and insights you might have on the topic, happy to discuss!

Wishing you a wonderful summit,

Rasmus 🙂

Congrats Rasmus for the topic. I’m running Founders Wellbeing programs for incubators and accelerators and this is a very common saboteur loads of founders have. I’d love to connect!
